You are the salt of the Earth

Word:

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Col 4: 5 – 6.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.  Mat 5:13

Thought:

God chooses people in many different ways. For example, He may choose a person either before the foundation of the earth or in his/her mother’s womb, or in the furnace of pain. Jesus said we are the light and salt to this earth. Look around, the entire world is filled with sin and it is like the times of Noah/Lot. We are the people responsible to share His love to our circle of nonbelievers. If not we, then who will?

What is God’s purpose on Earth?

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word: Gen 1: 27 says “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

Thought: What is God’s purpose on Earth?

We are God’s image bearers. We are the aroma of Christ Jesus wherever he leads us. When we hold God’s hand we might leave it, but if He holds our hand He will not leave. This is the successful history of our forefathers those who walked humbly with Him on this Earth.

Pass the Legacy On to the upcoming generations!

Thought: True Identity in Christ Jesus and a relationship with God empowered by the power of the Holy Spirit is far more important and vital than our jobs, successes, wealth, or knowledge. Remember – We are the ambassador for God’s Kingdom, light and salt. Our value comes from being one of God’s children not from what we can achieve. We have worth because of what God does not because of what we do!
God sent us the Savior to seek and save those who are lost.

Our conduct should reflect our new allegiance.

Ambassadors of Christ Jesus! 

Dear all,
Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Ephesians 6: 10
Word: Ministry of Reconciliation
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us. so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.       2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (NIV)

Thought: We are called to be ambassadors for Christ Jesus and His Kingdom. An ambassador is an official representative of one country to another. As believers, we are Christ’s ambassadors, sent with the message of redemption in Christ Jesus to the World.

In what ways we are fulfilling our call?

Remember your call and we are the ambassadors of Christ Jesus! 

Stand Still | Sit Still | Be Still

Dear all,

Stand still: Exodus 14: 13 and 14 say: Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Sit still: Ruth 3: 18 says: Then Naomi said, “Wait, my daughter, until you find out what happens. For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today.”Be still: Psalm 46: 10: He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;     I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Thought:

Let us understand the Word of God and apply it in our day-to-day life in every dimension. Let us share the love of Christ Jesus through our lifestyle with as many people as we can. Ruth 3: 2 says “And it happened”. In our LORD’S Sovereign plan, He decided to bring Ruth as the “Mother of Kings” and our LORD Jesus Christ, when he came to this world, He came as a descendant of Ruth (Matthew 1: 5). Let us build people’s life with four pillars such as love, care, respect, and vision. 

In Christ, we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.

Bitter Water at Marah Vs Cross of Christ Jesus

Word: Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.  Ephesians 4: 31-32

Exodus 15: 22 – 27 – Bitter Water at Marah – Cross of Christ Jesus and leading a Christ-centered life will heal the bitterness in life, permanently! 

Thought: This is Christ’s law for forgiveness. We have received the forgiveness in Christ; let us pass it on to others for His kingdom’s sake.

Jesus came to seek and to save the lost

Dear all, 

Greetings in the mighty name of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:

For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.1 Thes 4:7

But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty that gives them understanding. Job 32:8

The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33: 4

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. Luke 7: 28-32

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10b

Thought: 

In His Time

I wait on God to bring to pass

All that He promised me

And as I wait, I rest in faith

For all, I cannot see

For in His way, He will provide

At just the perfect time

Hospitality to Strangers

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Word:

Hebrews 13:1-2

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Matthew 25:43

I was a stranger, and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me

Thought:

The author of Hebrews in the first reference urges the readers to show hospitality to even strangers.  Jesus also associates our treatment of strangers with our treatment of Him.  How many times are we quick to ignore strangers and turn the other way? Is that the way we would want to treat Jesus?

Prayer:

Lord, we pray that you work on our hearts to be loving and hospitable to be people around us. Amen.

Recognizing our critics

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thought:

Apostle Paul in his instructions to the church of Thessalonica asks them to recognize three important characteristics in people; those who work hard, those who care for others, and those who admonish others. It seems sensible and practical to appreciate hard-working and caring people but it’s not easy to appreciate them when they strongly criticize us. The type of admonishment that Paul talks about is done in love where the person who admonishes someone cares enough about them to boldly warn them of their sinful ways. A simple illustration is a mother admonishing her child for playing with fire. We know she does it in love and it is for the child’s well-being. As believers, we should be able to humbly accept and live with people who admonish us, at the same time, when a situation arises, we should also be courageous enough to admonish others in love.

Word:

1 Thessalonians 5: 12, 13

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord, and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.

Prayer:

Lord, help us to be humble when You or others admonish us, help us fix our sinful ways, and also give us the courage to admonish others in love. Amen.

Thoughts, words, and actions

Greeting in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

Thought:

Sometimes our thoughts are not often as talked about as our words or actions. In many cases thoughts will be the starting point of a good or bad thing that we may do in the future, so we need to guard our thoughts. Apostle Paul gives a good idea of how our thoughts should be: pure, true, noble, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. We should avoid sinful thoughts to stay, sometimes being too busy can also stop us from those good thoughts as mentioned in verse 8. In verse 9, He leads by example and asks us to follow either by what we have heard from him or from what we have seen from him, which essentially is his words and his life in actions respectively. Our thoughts are for us, and words and our lifestyle is for us and others to witness, but all need to align with God’s will.

 Word:

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.          

 Prayer:

Lord, give us your Spirit, to govern our words, thoughts, and actions. Amen.
