Total submission to Christ

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: “Jesus Reinstates Peter”

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”  Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. John 21: 15 – 17

Thought:

Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved him. The first time Jesus said, “Do you love me more than these? (Greek agape: self-sacrificial love). The second time, Jesus focused on peter alone and still used the word translated into Greek, agape. The third time, Jesus used the word translated into Greek, phileo (brotherly love) and asked, in effect, “Are you even my friend?

If Lord Jesus Christ asked us the same question today, what will be our response? If we do everything out of love we will never be disappointed. Let us run for the Lord with love.

And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Roman 5:5

All to Jesus I surrender;

All to him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust him,

In his presence daily live.    Judson W. Van DeVenter, 1896

New creation

Dear all,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. As we are learning Proverbs, let us continue to apply in our day today life.

Word:

Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them. Mark 7: 14 and 15.

Thought:

An action begins with a single thought allowing our mind to dwell on it. Let’s fill our minds with the word of God and think about what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely and admirable  (Philippians 4: 8).

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Cor 5:17

God’s wisdom

Dear all,

Greetings to you in the most precious and glorious name of our resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As we are learning Proverbs, let us continue to apply in our day today life.

Word:

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Pro 16:24

Timely advice is lovely, like golden apples in a silver basket Pro 25: 11

Thought:

Words can be used as a tool or a weapon, for building relationships or breaking them. Build a bridge with every person you meet today with your kind words and show the love of Christ to them. God’s wisdom will make a difference through you in their lives.
