The Two Foundations

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word: The Two Foundations

The Two Foundations

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and [a]acts on them, [b]may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the [c]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not [d]act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the [e]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27 (NASB)

Thought:

The two lives Jesus compares at the end of the Sermon on the Mount have several points in common: they both build, they both hear Jesus’ teaching, and they both experience the same set of circumstances in life. The difference between them isn’t caused by ignorance but by one ignoring what Jesus said. Externally, their lives may look similar; but the lasting structural differences will be revealed by the storms of life.

The immediate differences in your life when you decided to follow Jesus may not be obvious, but eventually they will turn out to affect even your eternal destiny.

To what degree does your life reflect the directions Jesus gave in this Sermon?

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.

God is Omnipotent – all powerful good God

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word: God is Omnipotent – all powerful good God

16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16 (NIV)

Thought:

Our God has infinite power over ALL things great and small. ALL situations. The goal of this lesson is to help you recognize this attribute of His and walk in this truth daily; casting all your care unto Him because He can do all things and He cares for you. Also, we are to acknowledge the power of God has given to us to live a fruitful fulfilling life each day.

LORD JesusChrist – Alpha and the Omega

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1: 8

Thought: He is God of the past, present and future, bending time ti His perfect will, unfettered by its constraints. He is never late, never subject to the tyranny of a deadline, never in a hurry, never playing catch-up with a schedule that has careened out of control (Ecclesiastes 3).

Confidence in Christ

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word of God:

7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9

Thought: Confidence in Christ means that LORD Jesus does “strange things I cannot always understand”. In addition, a sense of humility in knowing God realizing that there will always be more to learn from Him. The appropriate response to God is a heart of wonder and awe in light of His incomprhensible greatness.

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.
