God’s promises

Word:  This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Once again I will yield to Israel’s plea and do this for them  Eze: 36 : 37.

“LORD Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, ‘I will build a house for you.’ So your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you. II Sam 7: 27

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God, Mat 4:4

Thought:

God’s promises cannot fail. He has appointed prayer to bring them to pass. What comes from Heaven in a promise should be sent back to heaven in a prayer

Jesus Corrects

Word:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Pro 3: 5-6

Thought:

When we have an important decision to make, we sometimes feel that we can’t trust anyone. But our Lord Jesus Christ knows what is best for us. We must trust Him completely in every choice we need to make. Always listen and be willing to be corrected by God’s word. Bring your decisions to God in prayer, use the word of God as your guide, then follow God’s leading. He will direct your paths by both guiding and protecting you.

Srong and Courageous

“..Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

When we look at the world around us it’s so discouraging. Where ever and whatever we see are filled with chaos and confusion. Today you might be facing a discouraging situation which is holding you up from moving on. Leave the situation in the hands of the Lord and cling on to the promise the Lord gave to Joshua as your own promise.  We pray that you will be like the singing little bird sitting peacefully on top of the tree amidst the roaring storm. Look up to Jesus; He will give you the strength to overcome any raging storm you are facing. Through Christ we are over comers.

Refuge

Word:

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalms 46: 1 – 3

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15: 1 – 4.

Thought:

Jesus is our eternal refuge and gives strength and confidence in all circumstances.

Peace and Hope

Word:

Peace and Hope

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, wehave peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

Thought:

On the one hand, we are complete in Christ. On the other hand, we are growing in Christ. At one and the same time we feel both the presence of Christ and pressures of sin. We enjoy the peace that comes from being made right with God, but we still face daily problems that often help us to grow more in Christ.

Your strength will equal your days

Word:

They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.  Acts 12: 10

Your strength will equal your days. Deut 33:25

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt 6: 33

Thought:

God’s call is for us – Whatever He has asked us to do, let us trust in Him and obey and He will do the rest.

Temptation is not sin, but yielding to temptation is

Word:

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Gal 2: 20

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Heb 11: 1

Thought:

Temptation is not sin, but yielding to temptation is.

Never forget – Your identity in Christ.

Never forget – Your identity in Christ

Word:

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Ps 42: 1

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. Ps 46: 4

Thought:

Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I (Jesus Christ) give will never thirst not ever. The water I give will be an artisan spring within, gushing fountains of endless life. If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way, just as the scripture says ‘ You’ll be like a well watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. John 4: 13-14, John 7: 38-39; Isaiah 58:11

Never forget – Your identity in Christ.

Total Transformation in Christ

Word:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12: 1 – 2.

Thought:

God has good, pleasing and perfect plans for His children. He wants us to be transformed people with renewed minds, living to honor and obey him. Only when the Holy Spirit renews, reeducates, and redirects our mind are  truly transformed.

Christian’s happiness

Word:

But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”  At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul. While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep. Acts: 7: 55 – 60.

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” John 11: 40

Thought:

A Christian’s happiness and joyful life is not dependent on his circumstances.Keep honouring God in your conduct and words. Stephen’s death had a profound impact on Paul, who later become the world’s greatest missionary. Even those who oppose you now may later turn to Christ.
