spiritually fit

Word:

“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. Luke 21:34

This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Hebrews 8:10

Thought:

Christ is coming again and we need to watch and be spiritually fit. This means working faithfully at the tasks God has given to us. Don’t let our mind and spirit be dulled by careless living, drinking or foolishly pursuing pleasure. Don’t let the cares of this life weigh us down. Be ready to move at God’s command.

“Prepare to meet your God, O Israel” Amos 4:12b

Be Prepared and Prepare others.

Confident in God’s presence

Word:

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Mathew 5:8

Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. Ps73:1

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Ps 73: 23-26

So be very careful to love the LORD your God. Joshua 23:11

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:5

Thought:

Be Confident in God’s presence and His Guidance. We are continually in God’s Grip in our Journey. In addition, we have the great hope of salvation and the hope of Glory in Christ.

Jesus Heals

Word:

Jesus Heals Ten Men with Leprosy

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.  One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?  Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”  Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” Luke 17: 11-18.

Thought:

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Col 1: 13-14Give thanks with a grateful heart – God has done wonderful things in our life. Thank God for His free gift of salvation in Christ.

Freedom in Christ

Word:

Freedom in Christ

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8: 34-36.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Galatians 5: 1 and 13.

Thought:

Lord Jesus Christ was born in this world, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and was raised to set us free from sin. Let us practice to walk humbly with Him every moment.

Jesus paid it all,

All to Him I owe;

Sin had left a crimson stain,

He washed it white as snow.

Elvina M. Hall (1865)

Purpose of our life

Word:

Then Jesus told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’

“‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”  Luke 13: 6 – 3.

Thought:

Have you been enjoying God’s special treatment without giving anything in return? If so, respond to the Gardener’s patient care and begin to bear that fruit God has created you to produce.

Be thankful to God that you are wonderfully made to accomplish His purposes.

“THE LORD ALMIGHTY IS MUSTERING AN ARMY FOR WAR. IS 13:4”

Jesus Christ’s Kingdom

Word and Thought:

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (2 Cor 10:3, 4)

The weapons of spiritual warfare are not worldly. They are powerful through God to demolish the devil’s forts. We don’t wage war with human plans and methods. Remember, we should always sharpen our spiritual weapons in prayer and by waiting before God with perseverance (Eph 6:13 -18).

The Lord of the Armies is with us. We stand still and know that He is God! (Psa 46:9-11). Stop and listen to Him before you proceed!

When God is supplying all your weapons for the spiritual battle, no challenge is too big to win. While you are walking through the rocky road – Remember Jesus also walked on the same road. So He is able to give strength to overcome the evil with good.

Whatever the resources we have let us use them for the development of Christ’s kingdom. Moses had a stick – God asked Moses what is in your hand and God used Moses mightily. David had a pebble – God has used that pebble. Gideon – God encouraged him by addressing him as a” mighty man”. Now whatever resources we have in our hands – let us use for Christ’s Kingdom.

Though the ills of earth may wound me,

And the storms of life confound me—

With His loving arms around me,

I’ll go with Him all the way!

(Fanny J. Crosby, 1823-1915)

God’s deep secrets

Word:

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him. These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.1 Cor 2:9-10

Thought:

‘God’s deep secrets’ refers to God’s unfathomable nature and his wonderful plan – Jesus’ Death and Resurrection and to the promise of salvation, revealed only to those who believe that what God says is true.

God never forgets His People. He is good at all  time. God’s eyes are watching us. We cannot hide anything from Him.

Finding eternal satisfaction in Christ

Word:

Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again and again. Anyone who drinks the water I (Jesus Christ) give will never thirst – not ever. The water I give will be an artisan spring within, gushing fountains of endless life. If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way, just as the scripture says ‘ You’ll be like a well watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry.

John 4: 13-14, John 7: 38-39; Isaiah 58:11

Lord Jesus, you quench the thirst and longing of my soul, Praise your blessed name – Billy Graham.

Dare to be a Daniel

Word of God:

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Heb 4: 12 -13

Thought:

The word of God is living, life-changing and dynamic as it works in us. The demands of God’s word require decisions … strong and firm decision in Christ. We must also let it shape our lives.

Dare to be a Daniel! Dare to stand alone!

Dare to have a purpose firm! Dare to make it known!

Hold the Gospel banner high! On to victory grand!

Satan and his host defy, and shout for Daniel’s Band!

(Philip P. Bliss, 1838-1876)

Fear-of-God

Word of God:

The Fear-of-God builds up confidence, and makes a world safe for your children.

The Fear-of-God is a spring of living water so you won’t go off drinking from poisoned wells.

Proverbs 14: 26-27

The fear of the LORD leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied. Pro 19:23

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him. II Chronicles 16:9a

Thought:

Do we have the Fear of God?

When we fear God,  we don’t have to be afraid of or worry about anything.

Jesus is the living water.

Jesus answered, “All who drink this water will be thirsty again.  But anyone who drinks the water I give him will never be thirsty. In fact, the water I give him will become a spring of water in him. It will flow up into eternal life.” John 4: 13 and 14
