Never forget – Your identity in Christ.

Dear all,

Grace and peace to you in the name of the LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:

All praise to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Ephesians 1:3

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. Phil 4: 19-20

Boaz replied, “I’ve been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before. May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.” Ruth 2: 11-12

Thought:

We must never forget that God is in charge of our lives. The strength of Kindness – God calls His people to show mighty kindness.

Never forget – Your identity in Christ.

Word of God is Alive and Active

Dear all,
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:

How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. Psalms 119:9

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Heb 4: 12-13.

In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Mathew 24:35

Thought: Let us renew our vision and confidence in Christ.

The word of God is living, life-changing, and dynamic as it works in us. The demand of God’s word requires strong and firm decisions.

Challenges in our Journey are what make life interesting; overcoming them with the power of God is what makes life meaningful. Invest your life for Christ’s Kingdom’s sake.

“God who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the Day of Jesus Christ” (Phil 1:6).

Memory verse for the week:

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” Mat 4:19.

Live your life victoriously with the power of Risen Redeemer Lord Jesus Christ

Stand firm In Christ

Hospitality to Strangers

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Word:

Hebrews 13:1-2

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Matthew 25:43

I was a stranger, and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me

Thought:

The author of Hebrews in the first reference urges the readers to show hospitality to even strangers.  Jesus also associates our treatment of strangers with our treatment of Him.  How many times are we quick to ignore strangers and turn the other way? Is that the way we would want to treat Jesus?

Prayer:

Lord, we pray that you work on our hearts to be loving and hospitable to be people around us. Amen.

Mastering ourselves

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thought:

In Judges 16, Samson’s lack of self-control and humility was on full display as he made a series of poor choices, sleeping with a prostitute, sharing secrets with the enemy, and being proud of his strength. Eventually, God left Him. We run the same risk when we haven’t mastered ourselves from doing what our flesh or the world wants us to do. Apostle Paul in 1 Cor 9:27 goes so far as to say that he made his body his slave to prevent himself from being disqualified as he is preaching the gospel to others. To each person, making their body their slave could mean different things, but one thing is for sure, it will push us out of our comfort zone. We should strive to push our boundaries to master ourselves for God’s glory and avoid disqualification from attaining eternity with God.

Word:

1 Corinthians 9:27

No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Prayer:

Lord, give us the strength and endurance to master ourselves. Strengthen our weaknesses for Your glory. Amen.

Humility and Serving

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

Thought:
As we approach the holidays, let’s remember to imitate Christ in terms of humility and serving. Though our God is mighty above all, we are here on earth to be humble and serve others, just like Jesus. We can do this only when we place more value on others rather than ourselves. Death on the cross was not only a painful experience but also an extremely shameful form of punishment. But Jesus, at the cost of His dignity and His life, did that to serve us with the hope of salvation.

Word:

Philippians 2: 3-4
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.

Prayer:
Lord, help us stay humble and serve others. Prevent us from having any selfish or prideful thoughts and tendencies. Amen.

Christmas Season. Are our hearts in the right place?

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thought:

With Christmas approaching, where are our thoughts, on our vacations? Gifts? Decorations? Parties? family get together? Sometimes it might overshadow the reason for the season which is Christ. The world may know it as Christ’s birthday, but we can go a step further to explain what it means. Since almost everyone celebrates Christmas, it’s a great opportunity to share the love of Christ with non-believers during this season. We can invite them home or to the church where we can ask God for wisdom and boldness to share the gospel. It’s also a time where we can be radically generous to people who can’t afford to celebrate. Let’s celebrate God’s love for us this season by loving others.

Word:

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Prayer

Lord, help us to remember You as we head into this Christmas season, help us to share Your love with others. We pray that others also open their hearts and come to know you. Amen.

Marriage: Love & Respect – True Joy and Peace, that is from God!

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thought:

People of the world might suggest several things for a joyful marriage. Some of them might sound good and feel good but the Bible is clear on the roles of a husband/wife in a marriage and upon following, it can lead to the best marriages in terms of true joy and peace, that is from God.

Word:
Ephesians 5:21-33 (Also refer 1 Peter 3:1-7)
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Prayer:
LORD, thank you for the institution of marriage, help us to fulfill the roles you have given us. Help us to imitate the relationship of Christ and Church in the marriage. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Misplaced hope? Trust God! No Matter what!

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thought: What are the worldly things that we put our hope onto? Sports, politics, entertainment, money and even family/friends are sometimes things we misplace our hope on. All these can perish, spoil or fade. A good way to know if our hope is misplaced or not is, how we react to changes in any of the aforementioned things, say like, a closely lost game of our favourite sports team or person, a lost election of the party we hoped to win, sudden financial loss. If we lose our peace  over such things it’s time to shift our hope. How and where? It’s clearly mentioned in the word (included below).

Word: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3-4

Prayer:

LORD, We are grateful for your mercy because you have given us a living hope through belief in Jesus’ resurrection. Help us to overcome temporary worldly things that distract us from putting our hope on You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Total Transformation In Christ Jesus

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

Thought:

What is worshiping God? How do we do it regularly? Sometimes we are drawn to think that it only involves singing songs and praising.   But more importantly it is about offering our whole selves to God, that is considered true and proper worship according to Romans 12:1-2. We shouldn’t do as the world does, instead each and every action, small or big, should be done in a way that honors God. Being honest, generous, patient, self controlled are some examples of that.

Prayer:
LORD, we want to offer our lives in worship to you, for you are worthy. Give us strength to stand apart from the world and do you Your will. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Unity is Strength – Unity among Believers!

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 1 Corinthians 1:10

Thought: Today we have so many different churches, sometimes, even within a church we have groups with different opinions on how the church is to be run. Just imagine if each part of our body has its own mind, there will be total chaos and confusion. Very little to nothing gets accomplished as each part looks out for its own good. Therefore, as members of the body of Christ, we must be humble and stand united so that we all can be extremely effective in doing God’s will.

Prayer:
LORD, help me and other believers to be of similar mind and thought. Let Your will unite us over our own ideas. Give the churches the ability to look over their differences to work together for Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen
