Life Through the Spirit: For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him, we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings so that we may also share in his glory. Romans 8: 14-17

Dear all,
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians1: 3
Word:  “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV)

Thought: Look up to Jesus When we look at the world around us it’s so discouraging. Wherever and whatever we see are filled with chaos and confusion. Today you might be facing a discouraging situation that is holding you up from moving on. Leave the situation in the hands of the Lord and cling to the promise the Lord gave to Joshua as your promise. We pray that you will be like the singing little bird sitting peacefully on top of the tree amidst the roaring storm. Look up to Jesus; He will give you the strength to overcome any raging storm you are facing. Through Christ Jesus we are overcomers.

Word: But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Thought: True Identity in Christ Jesus and a relationship with God empowered by the power of the Holy Spirit is far more important and vital than our jobs, successes, wealth, or knowledge. Remember – We are the ambassador for God’s Kingdom, light and salt. Our value comes from being one of God’s children not from what we can achieve. We have worth because of what God does not because of what we do!
God sent us the Savior to seek and save those who are lost.

Our conduct should reflect our new allegiance.

Word: I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Thought:  A believer does not focus on today’s sufferings; he looks forward to tomorrow’s glory. When our faith is strong in Christ Jesus, we tend to be optimistic because our hope is in the living God who holds our future.

Life Through the Spirit:

 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8: 1-2

Thought: Before we believed in Christ our nature was evil. Born-again Christians have a new nature in Christ. God has crucified the old nature (Romans 6:6) and replaced and replaced it with a new loving nature (Colossians 3: 9-10).

Submit to all Authority

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ.

Word: 1 Peter 2:13-14
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

Thought:

Human authority can be upper management at the workplace or local/national governments. In any case, they aren’t always believers themselves. But in all cases they are appointed by God and thus we should submit to them, this doesn’t necessarily mean we agree with them, but we are called to be humble and respectful to them. Grumbling, gossiping, being disobedient and hateful are some ways we fail in being submissive. When we find it hard to live under any authority, we just need to pray and ask God for endurance through it rather than react to their wrongdoings.

Prayer:

LORD, We know You appointed all authority, therefore help us to be submissive to them and we pray that you bless the authority and provide them with wisdom and strength to lead the people and make decisions as per Your will. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Holy Life is a Jolly Life

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15-16

Thought: God has called us to be holy because He is holy. Things that make us unholy can be internal or external. This could be anything like our words, thoughts, actions, people we hang out with, places we go or habits we pick up. As humans we are bound to fall short one way or the other, but God’s mercy and grace through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His resurrection more than makes up for it. Let that inspire us to be more holy and ultimately more like Jesus.

Prayer: LORD, give us the strength to overcome the things in our life that make us unholy, so that we can become holy like You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Misplaced hope? Trust God! No Matter what!

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thought: What are the worldly things that we put our hope onto? Sports, politics, entertainment, money and even family/friends are sometimes things we misplace our hope on. All these can perish, spoil or fade. A good way to know if our hope is misplaced or not is, how we react to changes in any of the aforementioned things, say like, a closely lost game of our favourite sports team or person, a lost election of the party we hoped to win, sudden financial loss. If we lose our peace  over such things it’s time to shift our hope. How and where? It’s clearly mentioned in the word (included below).

Word: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3-4

Prayer:

LORD, We are grateful for your mercy because you have given us a living hope through belief in Jesus’ resurrection. Help us to overcome temporary worldly things that distract us from putting our hope on You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  Matthew 28:19

Thought: Let’s take a moment to  appreciate the work of the missionaries of our faith. They dedicate the entirety of their lives and sacrifice so much to spread the Gospel, Why? Because it’s Worthy. We all are called to share the gospel to others, either locally or globally. For the people who go globally, we can support them in many ways like Praying for them, being in touch with them and providing resources to them.

Prayer:
LORD, provide for our missionaries, wherever you send them. Grant your wisdom so that they can live a life that reflects the gospel. Give them the boldness and courage to share the gospel in all situations. Help me be caring and supportive of them. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen
