The purpose of God’s judgment is correction, not revenge

Dear Friends,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:

The word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.” But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the LORD. Jonah 1: 1-3.

Thought:

The purpose of God’s judgment is correction, not revenge. He is always willing to show compassion to anyone willing to obey Him. If God asks us to share with our neighbors / colleagues Christ’s love and the free gift of salvation through faith in Lord Jesus what will our response be? When we face difficulties on account of the gospel God will provide us the strength and encouragement we need.

Let us boldly share the love of Christ to those who are in need of Christ’s love.

God’s plan

Word:

Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.” After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route. Mat 2: 7-12

Thought: Herod was king by a human appointment; Jesus was king by a divine appointment. No one can prevent God’s plan from being carried out.

Need Strength???

Word:

Do you not know?    Have you not heard?  The LORD is the everlasting God,   the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary,   and His understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40: 28-31.

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

Acts 18: 9-10

I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength. Phil 4:13

Thought:

God’s power and His strength never diminish and it is limitless like His everlasting love. His strength is our source. He cares for each and every one of us personally.

God’s sovereign plan

Dear all,

May God bless you and keep you in His presence and His peace during this Christmas season and years to come.

Word:

But you, Bethlehem Ephrata, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from ancient times. Micah:  5:2

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Thought:

In order to magnify the glory of his own mercy God has chosen the little town of Bethlehem, Joseph, Mary, Shepherds and Wiseman to be part of His sovereign plan.

Wish you all a merry Christmas.

Remember God’s goodness

Word:
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Ps 100: 4-5

Thought:

Remember God’s goodness, grace and dependability in our life. He never put his people to shame.  Worship Him with a whole heart, mind and soul.  Thank and Praise Him – His love endures forever.

God’s wisdom

Word:

Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2: 3 – 6

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col 2: 2-3

Thought:

Wisdom’s starting point is God and His revealed Word is the source of “knowledge and understanding”.

Where are you???

Word:

The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young- let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. Pro 1: 1 – 6.

Thought:

God wants his people to be wise. When we choose God’s way, He grants us wisdom. His word, the Holy Bible helps us to live right in the dark world, have right relationships and make right decisions. When you are following His word you are living in His “ARK” not in “DARK”. Where are you?

Trust in the LORD

Word:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Pro 3: 5-6

Thought:

When we have an important decision to make, we sometimes feel that we can’t trust anyone. But our Lord Jesus Christ knows what is best for us. We must trust Him completely in every choice we need to make. Always listen and be willing to be corrected by God’s word. Bring your decisions to God in prayer, use the word of God as your guide, then follow God’s leading. He will direct your paths by both guiding and protecting you.

afraid ???

Word:

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”   Acts 18: 9-10

Thought:

“Challenges are what make life interesting;

Overcoming them with the Christ’s power is what makes life meaningful”

Power of God

Word:

One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God, Psalms 62: 11

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1: 7

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.  1 Peter 1: 18 – 21.

Thought:

There is power, power, wonder-working power in the blood of the Lamb;

There is power, power, wonder-working power in the precious blood of the Lamb. Lewis E. Jones, 1899
