Be Dressed for Service and keep your Lamps Burning

Dear all,

Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Ephesians 6: 10

Word: Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning – Luke 12: 35

Be – Personal call for you – God saved our forefathers through thousands of years, even in the middle of a flood, war, and natural calamities, and brought us into this World. God’s sovereign plan in Christ Jesus for you and me was well planned by God before the foundations of the earth (Ephesians 1).

Dressed: Zechariah 3: 1-10 and Ephesians 6 talk about the garment.  It is referred to as the Salvation in Christ Jesus and the full armor of God. With these, we will be secured and saved by God from satanic attacks. Submit to God and resist the devil in Jesus’ name.

For service: What is the ultimate service for us on this Earth? The answer is simple – sharing the love of Christ Jesus to the people who need salvation. Our life should have a solid foundation in the Word of God. We need to have one desire, one passion, one goal and that is, to proclaim Jesus’ name by our words and actions everywhere (Matthew 7: 24).

Keep your lamps burning: Plug your mind into the power of prayer and be filled with the Holy Spirit, which results in a continuous victorious walk in Christ in all the areas of your life. In which area do you need a continuous victory? Let us ask God like Jacob and He is ready to bless us with a victorious life. In addition, God called us to be a light in the darkness (Matthew 5). An oil lamp needs a continuous supply of oil and if it is an electric lamp it needs a continuous electric supply. Here we can compare oil and electricity with God’s anointment of the Holy Spirit.

At the end of this year, let us spend some time in prayer and re-evaluate our walk with Christ.

Thought: The Sovereignty of God

God is sovereign, He is in charge. When your life seems chaotic, rest in this truth and rest in His arms. God is in control; Jesus is the LORD, and the Holy Spirit is with you as Jesus Promised.

Gift of God and Faithful Stewardship

Dear all,

Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Ephesians 6: 10

Living for God:

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. I Peter 4: 10-11

Thought: God has given us special and unique abilities. We are called to use these gifts for God’s glory, permitting his generosity to flow through us.  When we are careful to focus on God’s glory, we can make a significant difference wherever God placed us!

In Christ, we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.

Difficulties Vs Strength and sustainability

Dear all,
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Romans 8: 28-30

Thought:

In Christ Jesus, we have a better joy, a higher and lasting joy to cure depression or tension.  Submit yourself and draw constantly from his power. When you feel down, you may find it difficult to give thanks. Take heart – in all things. God works for our good if we love him and are called by him (Romans 8: 28-30). Thank God, not for your difficulties but for the strength and sustainability he is building in you through the difficult experiences of your life. You can be sure that God’s perfect love will see you through.

Your strength will equal your days. Deuteronomy 33: 25

How to Pray – ACTS Method – Adoration Confession Thanksgiving and Supplication

Dear all,

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. II Peter 1: 2

Word: In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people by the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8: 26-28

Thought: Prayer is one of the ways we draw closer to God and preserve our spiritual gains. Paul assures us that the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit is at work within us as we pray. We are not left alone to work out our problems. As we entrust our lives to God, he directs the events of our lives, even the painful ones, for our good. He can turn even our mistakes into the means for our growth and blessing.

Adoration — Praising and worshiping God for who He is, His power, and His fatherly love, …

Confession — Acknowledging to God that we have sinned and that we claim Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Thanksgiving — Giving thanks to God for all that He has done for us.

Supplication — Humbly asking God to help us or others when there is a need.

Your strength will equal your days. Deuteronomy 33: 25

Jesus – The Good Shepherd

Dear all,
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13
Word: Psalm 23 – A psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Thought:
The LORD is our shepherd, and He cares for us and knows what we need better than we do. He is our maker, and He wants us to have the best for us. The greatest gift ever mankind received is the Salvation in Christ Jesus. He is the good shepherd, and He will lead us to places of safety. He rescued us through the cross and paid the full price. Trust and obey and He is able to deliver us from sin’s grip.

Hezekiah’s Prayer

Dear all,

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Ephesians 1:2

Word:  Hezekiah’s Prayer

Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord: “Lord, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.  Give ear, Lord, and hear; open your eyes, Lord, and see; listen to the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God.  “It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste these nations and their lands. They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands.  Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.” II Kings 19: 14-19

Thought: Hezekiah’s Prayer provides an excellent model for us. Pray for your time at work, for divine appointments to share the love of Christ Jesus. It is our responsibility to reach an unreached community, to pray for the people who are yet to be saved (Psalm 102: 18).

Prayer – Two Way Communication with God

Dear all,

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Word:

Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. James 5: 17-18

Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.  “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him. Matthew 20:32-34.

Thought: Let us renew our vision and confidence in Christ Jesus. Let us practice a life living under an open heaven,

The Christian’s most powerful resource is communion with God through prayer.

Prayer – Power to the powerless

              Hope to the hopeless

             Strength to the strengthless

God will answer your prayers in mysterious ways.

Let us Run with Endurance!

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV)

Thought: As a disciple of Christ we are running toward our Heavenly reward. To live effectively, we must keep our eyes on Christ Jesus. Run in such a way to get the prize and run with the purpose in every step. We must have a purpose and a plan (1 Cor 9: 24-27). The essential disciplines of prayer, Bible study and worship equip us to run with vigor and stamina.

Train diligently – Spiritual progress depends upon it.

SERVE THE PURPOSE OF GOD IN YOUR OWN GENERATION – ACTS 13: 36

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

  1. And if you do not carry your cross and follow me, you can not be my disciple.

Thought: Cost of True Christian Discipleship

LORD Jesus encouraged those who were superficial either to go deeper or to turn back. Following Christ Jesus means an absolute submission to do God’s will and follow His footprints.

SERVE THE PURPOSE OF GOD IN YOUR OWN GENERATION – ACTS 13: 36

“Seeing Our World through the Eyes of Jesus” – Casting Down the Strongholds in Jesus’ Name!

Dear all,

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16: 13 -14.

Casting down the strongholds in Jesus’ name:

A stronghold is defined as “something” that holds you back from your walk with the LORD Jesus Christ. What is holding you back from spending quality time in fasting and praying?

Word:  When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. Nehemiah 1: 4

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah+1&version=NIV

Thought:  “Seeing our world through the eyes of Jesus”

Nehemiah intensely mourned about the condition of Jerusalem, but he didn’t just talk about it. After his initial grieving, he prayed, pouring his heart out to God, and he looked for ways to improve the situation.  Nehemiah fasted and prayed for several days, expressing his sorrow for Israel’s sin and his desire that Jerusalem would again come alive with the worship of one true God.

Nehemiah called the people to intercede with tears and repentance. How can we be without compassion for our children, youngsters, and families who are trapped in the grip of Satan? Isn’t it our responsibility to pray for them?

Prayer: Loving Heavenly Father, give us the grace to pray like Nehemiah for those who are afflicted and for our nation for a great revival. In Jesus’ mighty name – Amen.
