Cornerstone

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: 1 Peter 2:6-8
6 …“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
    a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”
7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone,”
8 and,
“A stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall.

Thought: In the above verses, Peter is talking about Jesus when he is referring to the stone.

For people who trust in Him, he will never be put to shame. Sounds almost impossible, but once we abide in Him, only what He thinks matters to us, the world may shame us but, for us believers, the world is not where we place our trust and hence what they think shouldn’t bother us.

The verses also mention that whoever rejects the stone, it causes them to stumble. One of the things that this could mean is that the truth can be offensive to people. Many Jews of Jesus’ lifetime were offended and rejected Him and His message. Even today, the very fact that Jesus is the only way for salvation is offensive to most non-believers, but that same message is precious to believers.

Prayer:

LORD, Help us to place our trust in You, the chosen and precious cornerstone. Give us the courage and burden to lovingly share about You among non-believers through our words and actions. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

Psalm 91 Conveys the Themes of God’s Protection and Rescue from Danger

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2

Thought: The author of Psalms 91 walks the talk by showing how he trusts the Lord before telling us the benefits of doing so. When we are in God, there is nothing to fear, because our trust is in God, the creator of the universe who loves us dearly. Problems of the world like politics, diseases, wars won’t scare us when we are in Him. As believers we have to continually and unwaveringly put out Trust in Him and not be shaken by what the world throws at us.

Prayer:
LORD, you are able and faithful. Help us to put our trust in You irrespective of whatever situation we are in. In Jesus mighty name! Amen.

The Weapons of Spiritual Warfare are not Worldly!

Dear all,
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13
Word: In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm 5:3
Thought:

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Cor 4:4

The weapons of spiritual warfare are not worldly. They are powerful through God to demolish the devil’s forts. We don’t wage war with human plans and methods. Remember, we should always sharpen our spiritual weapons in prayer and by waiting before God with perseverance (Ephesians 6:13 -18).

Prayer:

Dear God, open our eyes to see the mission fields that are ready for harvest. Help us see with a moving compassion the multitudes of people without someone to show them the way. In Jesus name. Amen.

Man shall not live on bread alone!

Dear all,
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1: 3
Word: Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4: 4
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Col 1: 13-14
Keep your conscience clear. 1 Peter 3: 16
Thought: Give thanks with a grateful heart – God has done wonderful things in our life. Thank God for His free gift of salvation in Christ.

Jesus – The Good Shepherd

Dear all,
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13
Word: Psalm 23 – A psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Thought:
The LORD is our shepherd, and He cares for us and knows what we need better than we do. He is our maker, and He wants us to have the best for us. The greatest gift ever mankind received is the Salvation in Christ Jesus. He is the good shepherd, and He will lead us to places of safety. He rescued us through the cross and paid the full price. Trust and obey and He is able to deliver us from sin’s grip.

A backslider cannot pray, and a prayer warrior cannot dwell in sin!

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:

Jesus said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. Luke 24: 45

Thought:

How is our everyday walk with our LORD? Are we spending quality time in the presence of God?  I personally believe that nothing is more essential than carrying the presence of God wherever He leads us. God has called us to fix our eyes on Jesus. Let us do some self-analysis and make corrections wherever required.

Let us ask God to give a total restoration and a great revival for our spiritual eyes to focus clearly, to see the people and their souls like Him.

A backslider cannot pray, and a prayer warrior cannot dwell in sin.

Follow Jesus’s footprints without complaints

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15: 5

Thought:

Christ is the vine, and God is the gardener who cares for the branches to make them fruitful. The branches are all those who are the followers of the footprints of Christ. God is expecting us to live in His presence and enjoy Him forever in Christ Jesus. When things are going well, we feel elated. When hardships come, are we grumbling or do we quietly wait for God’s perfect time to come?

Let us spend some quality time in the presence of God to analyze our faith journey in Christ Jesus.

Always Remember – We are on the Winning side – Christ Jesus is the Victor!

Dear all,
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Phil 1:2
Word:
When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

Hezekiah’s Prayer

Dear all,

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Ephesians 1:2

Word:  Hezekiah’s Prayer

Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord: “Lord, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.  Give ear, Lord, and hear; open your eyes, Lord, and see; listen to the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God.  “It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste these nations and their lands. They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands.  Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.” II Kings 19: 14-19

Thought: Hezekiah’s Prayer provides an excellent model for us. Pray for your time at work, for divine appointments to share the love of Christ Jesus. It is our responsibility to reach an unreached community, to pray for the people who are yet to be saved (Psalm 102: 18).

Thirsty?

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Word:  Jesus answered, “All who drink this water will be thirsty again.  But anyone who drinks the water I give him will never be thirsty. In fact, the water I give him will become a spring of water in him. It will flow up into eternal life.” John 4: 13 and 14

The Lord says, “I sent a great army of locusts to attack you. They included common locusts, giant locusts, young locusts and other locusts. I will make up for the years they ate your crops. You will have plenty to eat. It will satisfy you completely. Then you will praise me. I am the Lord your God. I have done wonderful miracles for you. My people will never be put to shame again. You will know that I am with you in Israel. I am the Lord your God. There is no other God. So my people will never be put to shame again. Joel 2: 25-27.

Thought:

Are we looking up to Jesus to satisfy us or are we running vainly behind the worldly things?

Stand firm in Christ
