Have you ever considered how one generation carries the Gospel of Christ Jesus to the next generation?

Dear all,
Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Ephesians 6: 10
Word:
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Baton - Passing
Thought:
Have you ever considered how one generation carries the Gospel of Christ Jesus to the next generation? Have you ever wondered what would happen to the Gospel of Christ Jesus if one generation failed to pass it on?
One brother, Andrew, led another brother called Peter to Christ (John 1:39-42); and Peter brought multitudes !!!

Pass it On!

Suffering: the True Test of Christian Ministry

Faith Works

Sometimes known as the “Asian John Stott”, Ajith Fernando is a committed Bible teacher who ministers in war-torn Sri Lanka.  In July 1983, the Tamil Tigers killed 15 government soldiers; in retaliation, Sinhalese mobs tore through Colombo, killing Tamils and setting properties on fire.  Six years of civil war followed, and Christian ministers began leaving the country – their children could not get an education, their careers were on one long ‘pause’ button, and their very lives were in danger.  Finally, Fernando received a letter offering him a position at the prestigious faculty of Gordon-Conwell – he had an opportunity to leave the war-torn country, to lecture and teach, and to dedicate time to writing.

Sri Lanka

He turned it down.

As one issue of Christianity Today observes,

“Everything Ajith Fernando writes and teaches is forged on the anvil of poverty, suffering, ethnic strife, and war—and tedious, patient administration.”

Spiritual discipline – When you “Give” – “Pray” – “Fast” – Do it secretly

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Word: Matthew 6: 1 – 18

HS 4

Thought:

In this passage, Jesus gives us a significant warning in three areas of Spiritual discipline.

When you give” Do it secretly”

When you pray” Do it secretly”

When you fast” Do it secretly”

Jesus wants us to get the best compensation possible, so He tells us to be sure we are working for our Heavenly Father and not for other people. He will never disappoint you.

God’s love in Christ Jesus for us

Thought: A Surprising Answer to Prayer from God – by Charles R. Swindoll

http://www.insight.org/resources/devotionals/a-surprising-answer-to-prayer.html

God’s love in Christ Jesus for us is total. It reaches every corner of our experience.

God’s love in Christ Jesus for us is long – it continues the length of our lives.

God’s love in Christ Jesus for us is high – it rises to the heights of our celebration and elation

God’s love in Christ Jesus for us is deep – it reaches to the depths of discouragement or despair (Romans 8: 38 and 39)

Be an inspiration of truth

Greetings. May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Word:  Matthew 5: 14 – 17 says, you are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Thought:

Can you hide a city that is sitting on top of a mountain? Its light at might can be seen for miles. If we live for Christ we will glow like lights, showing others what Christ is like. We hide our light by

  1. Being quiet when we should speak
  2. Going along with the crowd
  3. Denying the light
  4. Letting sin dim the light
  5. Not explaining our light to others
  6. Ignoring the needs of others.

SALT AND LIGHT

Greetings. May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Word: You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.holiness-walking-in-holiness

Thought:

We may not see the salt in our food but we can “feel” the taste.

We may not see the waves of light with bare eyes but we can “feel” the light.

If seasoning has no flavor, it has no value. If Christians make no effort to affect the world around them, they are of little value to God. Christians should impact others positively, just as seasoning brings out the best flavor in food. Make a positive impact wherever God has kept you. Be a mission minded Christian.

Have a Victorious walk in Christ Jesus.

Godly thoughts – Acceptable speech pattern – Christ centered motives

Word:  “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.” Matthew 15:17-20

PotterClay

Thought: We work hard to keep our outward appearance attractive, but what is deep down in our heart is more important to God. When people become followers of Christ, God makes them different on the inside. He will continue the process of transformation inside them if only they ask and seek. God wants us to have a healthy relationship with Him and others by Godly thoughts, acceptable speech pattern and Christ centered motives.

Who is your guide?

Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Ephesians 6: 10

Word:

Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth that is what defiles them.” Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots.  Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” Matthew 15:10-14

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2015:10-14

Thought:  Who is your guide? Make sure that those you listen to and learn from are those with good spiritual eyesight – they teach and follow the principles of Scripture.

Jesus appears to Seven Disciples

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: Jesus appears to Seven Disciples

John 21: 1-14

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%2021%3A1-14&version=NASB;NIV

And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith has nothing to it; you are still guilty of your sins. And those in Christ who already died are lost. If our hope in Christ for this life only, we should be pitied more than anyone else in the world. 1 Corinthians 15: 17-19

JESUS 1

Thought: The truth of Christianity rests heavily on the Resurrection. His disciples, those who claimed to have seen the risen Jesus went on to turn the world upside down. Most of them also died for being followers of Christ.

How can you come close to God?

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. I Cor 1: 3

Word: James 4: 1 – 12 – Submit Yourselves to God and His Plans

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%204%3A%201-12&version=NIV

Verses 7-8 says – Humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you.

90

Thought: How can you come close to God?

Remember your call and never forget your identity in Christ Jesus. Accept God’s way of living in every phase of your life.

Humble yourselves before God. Yield to His authority and will, commit your life to Him and His control and be willing to follow Him. Resist the devil in Jesus’ name. Don’t permit devil’s traps to entice and tempt you.
