Word: The test of perseverance in suffering: James 1: 2 – 12
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (Verses 2-4)

Thought: Each beatitude tells us how to be blessed by God. Blessed means more than happiness. Worldly happiness is based on happenings. But God’s Kingdom valued happiness for those who put their trust in Christ Jesus is based on joy and peace, no matter what the circumstances are.

Thought: Life does have a sweet fragrance – remember the sweetness of a rose. How much more is “the fragrance of Christ Jesus”. Believers recognize the life giving fragrance of the message.
