Prayer – Always Pray and Don’t Give up

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:  For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust. Psalms 103: 11 – 14

Thought:  Prayer – Always Pray and Don’t Give up

Knowing God:

Unless we know God in a personal way through the love of Christ Jesus we cannot love God. If we don’t have the love of God we may not carry the Word of God. If we don’t have the Word of God we can’t have the fear of God.

When we know He loves us, we can believe He will hear our cries for help. Holy Spirit is the key person to reveal the divine essence of God in Christ Jesus.

May God enhance our Spiritual eyes to see the marvelous light in Christ Jesus!

The church of believers that meets at Christian Fellowship Centre (CFC) today commenced with a few families that first met together in Bangalore, India in August 1975. Led by Zac Poonen and Ian Robson, they decided to first be disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ themselves, and then to make disciples in obedience to the Lord’s commission in Matthew 28:18-20. They emphasized new birth, holiness of inner life, mutual love, moral purity, financial integrity and sharing God’s truth with others – founding every aspect of their lives on God’s Word alone.

Starting as a small House Church, this body of Christ has grown steadily in the understanding and experience of the New Covenant Life in the Spirit. Right from the start, and through its growth over four decades the same set of distinctives has become the DNA of this Church. We soon felt a burden to share these wonderful truths that had transformed our own lives with others, starting with a monthly paper on the overcoming life and a tape ministry, and conferences for like minded disciples. In 1981 the growing Church moved into a meeting hall constructed at 40, DaCosta Square, in Bangalore. 1982-1989 marked the beginnings of the work of planting churches in other cities and states in India.

1989-1995 was a very productive period in Zac Poonen’s book writing ministry, and in the coming years he published more than twenty books. By 1997 the audio tape outreach had reached many lands. In 1999 at the age of 60, Zac Poonen gave up Eldership of CFC, Bangalore in order to travel with the Word. Our Internet outreach started in 2003 and this period also saw planting of churches in other continents. In 2014, the Church at Bangalore, having completed forty years as a Church, and also having outgrown our old hall, moved into our current meeting hall at Paradise Enclave, Bellahalli, Bangalore

Eldership at CFC Bangalore:

Christian Fellowship Church has always sought to follow New Testament teaching with respect to leadership of a local church (Tit.1:5; Acts 14:23). The word Elders indicated as “Plural” shows the necessity of having multiple elders in a local church to maintain balance in the leadership. At Bangalore, our leadership consists of four Elders- Ian Robson, Newton, Charles Banna and Vettriselvan. As per biblical teaching, the expectation on every individual member of the church is to be subject to the authority of these elders in all matters concerning the local church (Heb.13:17; 1 Thess.5:12-13).

Cost of Christian discipleship

Dear all,

Greetings in the name of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:        Luke 14: 25 – 33

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2014:25-33

  1. And if you do not carry your cross and follow me, you can not be my disciple.

Thought: Cost of Christian discipleship

LORD Jesus encouraged those who were superficial either to go deeper or to turn back. Following Christ Jesus means an absolute submission to do God’s will and to follow His foot prints.

“JOYFUL JOURNEY WITH GOD IS INITIATED AND IGNITED IN LORD JESUS CHRIST BY THE POWER OF HOLY SPIRIT”

led by the Spirit of God are the children of God

Dear all,

Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Ephesians 6: 10

Word: Life by the Spirit

(Jesus) I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10b

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to son ship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Romans 8: 14-17

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5: 16-18

Thought: When you follow God’s call on your life, you might find yourself in some unfamiliar places. A seedy part of town. Onstage, speaking in front of a large group. A completely different country. You might get a little scared. And that’s okay. What’s important to remember is that God is always with you.

LORD Jesus Christ the Ultimate Sacrifice

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: LORD Jesus Christ the Ultimate Sacrifice

“Look, the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1: 29)

Thought: All through the Bible we see this picture of substitutionary sacrifice that cleanses us from sin.

The Strength of Solitude and Silence

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: “And the Jesus withdrew and went to a quiet place.”

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%205:15-17&version=NASB

Thought: The Strength of Solitude and Silence

When we take time to read the gospels closely we will notice how often, sprinkled among the narratives, are phrases such as, “And then Jesus withdrew and went to a quiet place.” In the language of spiritual development this is called solitude: carving out a space in your life where God can speak to you. It is being quiet, confident in Christ Jesus and eager to listen to His voice. In these quiet moments God speaks and He meets us.

Prayer: Two way communication

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word of God:

At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed; so give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision. Daniel 9: 23

Thought: Prayer: Two way communication

Prayer is an excellent bridge between Our Father in Heaven and us through our Loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit. It is a precious gift which is given exclusively for HIS people. It is a very basic discipline of a born again Christian. Prayer is not to change God but to change our self according to God’s desire. We have to practice the praying habit according to our role model, Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 5:7, Matthew 26: 39 & 42). It is possible because He has promised us the Comforter Holy Spirit. The word of God says in Zechariah 4:6 – Not by might, nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord of hosts.

“Teacher” and “LORD”

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. John 13: 13-15

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+13%3A1-17&version=NIV

Thought: Here, Jesus is correcting the order in which they addressed Him to inscribe his vision in his disciples’ heart. First, He is expecting us to accept Him as our LORD and then as our Teacher. In addition, Jesus was the model servant, and he showed his servant attitude to his disciples. If even he, God in the flesh, is willing to serve, we his followers must also be servants, willing to serve in any way that glorifies God.

Memorize: Walk humbly with the LORD!

“Talitha kum!”

Dear all,

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. II Peter 1: 2

Word: Taking the child by the hand, He *said to her, “Talitha kum!” (which translated means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42 Immediately the girl got up and began to walk, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were completely astounded.

Thought: What role Jesus played in Peter, James and John’s life?

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark+5%3A37-43

Jesus played a significant role in these peoples’ life. He changed their attitudes, characters, life style and changed their destination in a heavenly way.
