Great Commission

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us remember the resurrected Lord Jesus’Great Commission.

Word:

When He (Jesus) was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24: 30-32

Thought:

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Cor 4:4

Prayer:

Dear God open our eyes to see the mission fields that are ready for harvest. Help us see with a moving compassion the multitudes of people without someone to show them the way. In Jesus name. Amen.

Jesus Gives the Great Commission

Dear all,

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. II Peter 1: 2

Word: Jesus Gives the Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Thought: God gave Jesus authority over heaven and earth. On the basis of that authority, Jesus told his disciples to make more disciples as they preached, baptized, and taught. With this same authority Jesus still commands us to tell others the Good News and make them disciples for the Kingdom.

Question: Are we doing our part in this great mission?
