Twelve Ordinary Men

Dear all,

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16: 13 -14.

Word: Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. Matthew 10: 1

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+10&version=NIV

Thought: God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called.

The twelve disciples were personally selected and called by Christ. Ordinary men-people like you and me – became the instrument by which Christ’s message was carried to the ends of the earth. No wonder they are such fascinating characters. – Adapted from John Macarthur’s Twelve Ordinary Men.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble

Dear all,

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.  II Cor 1: 2

Word:

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15: 1 – 4.

How are we responding to this?

Thought:

LORD Jesus is our eternal refuge and gives strength to the weak, power to the powerless and confidence in all situations. Never forget the source of our inspiration.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalms 46: 1 – 3

Are we Reflecting God’s Glory in our day-to-day Life?

Dear all,

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16: 13 -14.

Word:

The Beginning – In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. Genesis 1: 1 – 4

Thought:

The creation of history teaches us about God and ourselves. God is all knowing and all powerful (Elohim reveals His power). He created us to reflect His glory by our actions through living an exemplary Christ-centered life. The only way to enjoy the blessings of God is to obey Him. When we obey God, we find peace with Him, with others, and with ourselves.

Are we reflecting God’s glory in our day-to-day life?

When God speaks, miracles happen.

Forgiven People – Forgive People; Healed People – Heal People!

Dear all,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 1: 3

Word:

Then he said, “Remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Luke 23: 42-43

Thought:

True forgiveness comes from God in order to make us be the right disciple of Christ Jesus. As a result, we will have not only a peaceful life but also a fruitful life. Moreover, forgiven people know the deep love of God in Christ Jesus and cannot keep any kind of hatred against anyone.

Forgiven people – Forgive people

Healed people – Heal people

Clear Vision to See Things the Way LORD Jesus sees them

Dear all,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 1: 3

Word: Clear Vision to See Things the way LORD Jesus sees them

Why did Jesus touch the man a second time before he could see?

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark+8%3A22+-+26&version=NIV

This miracle was not difficult for Jesus, but he chose to do it in stages. Jesus asked him  “Can you see anything now?”  “Yes”, he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.” Interestingly, this healed man expressed his true status to LORD Jesus.

Are we healed completely by the healing power of LORD Jesus or still do we have any inner wounds? If our answer is yes, we need to pray for his “second healing touch” in our hearts.

Are we able to see souls with his eyes or are we still seeing them like trees walking around?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qg_zRWyypK8

Mark 8: 25 says that, Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.

We need to understand God’s heart for the people and their souls. God created mankind as eternal beings.

Let us make a list of all of our unsaved colleagues and family members and pray for their salvation. I strongly believe that God is more than able to save their souls.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+3%3A20-21&version=NIV

One man Elijah prayed earnestly and God answered his prayers (James 5: 17). It is our responsibility to protect them with our true prayers like a fence around a new plant .

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+5%3A17&version=NKJV

How is our prayer life? Are we spending quality time in the presence of God every day?  I personally believe that, nothing is more important than carrying the presence of God wherever He leads us. God has called us to fix our eyes on Jesus. Let us do some self-analysis and make corrections wherever required.

Let us ask God to give a total restoration and a great revival for our spiritual eyes to focus clearly, to see the people and their souls like Him.

A backslider cannot pray and a prayer warrior cannot dwell in sin.

The Judge is Standing at the Door!

Dear all,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 1: 3

 Word:

Patience in Suffering

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise, you will be condemned.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+5%3A7-12&version=NIV

Thought:

The spiritual root system is the fundamental foundation of our growth in Christ Jesus. Remember to rely on Him for everything. His promises are kept for you and will come true in His time. May God give us the patience to plan according to His master blueprint and wait and receive His blessings. The key idea is trust and obeys to accomplish His vision in our life.

God Reveals His Will in His Word

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Plan Ahead:

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. James 4: 13-17

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+4%3A13-17&version=NIV

Thought: The will of God comes from the heart of God. God reveals His will in His Word. Only when we are in His will can we be confident of tomorrow, for we know that He is leading us.

Let us Live a Pattern of Life that God Approves

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us always remember to be humble and obedient so we could reflect Christ-like characteristics in everything we do.

Word: There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. Pro 6: 16-19

Thought:

Let us live a pattern of life that God approves.

By Grace Vs No by Works – Faith Journey In Christ Jesus

Dear all,

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. II Peter 1: 2Faith 12

Word:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2: 9 – 10.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+2%3A9-10&version=NIV

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit-fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. John 15:16

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+15%3A+16&version=NIV

Thought: Let us renew our vision and confidence in Christ.

We are God’s new creation and God continues to work in us to make us what He wants us to be. To do this God uses three tools.

  1. Word of God
  2. Prayer
  3. Suffering

As we read God’s Word, understand it, meditate on it, and feed on it, the Word goes to work in our lives to cleanse us and nourish us. As we pray, God’s Spirit works in us to release power. And as we suffer, the Spirit of God ministers to us. Suffering drives us back to the Word and prayer, and the cycle is repeated. Adapted from Warren W. Wiersbe’s Bible Commentary.

Moving Forward

Dear all,

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. II Peter 1: 2

Word:

Philippians 3:12-14

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+3%3A12-14&version=NIV

Thought:

Paul said that his goal was to know Christ in a personal way, and to be all Christ had in mind for him. This goal took all of Paul’s energies, focus and time. We should not let anything take our eyes off our goal. Knowing Christ with the single-mindedness of an athlete in training we must lay aside everything harmful and forsake anything that may distract us from being effective and mission minded Christians.
