The Word Became Flesh:

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:   In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1: 1

The Word Became Flesh: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1: 1-5

Thought: The simple statement that God created the heavens and the earth is one of the most challenging concepts confronting the modern mind. The vast galaxy we live in is spinning at the incredible speed of 490,000 miles an hour. But even at this breakneck speed, our galaxy still needs 200 million years to make one rotation. And there are over one billion other galaxies just like ours in the universe. When God created, he made something from nothing. Remember that God created the universe because he loves us and LORD Jesus Christ came to show the Father’s love to us.

How is our Spiritual walk with our LORD Jesus Christ?

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Matthew 16:18

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2016%3A18&version=NIV

Thought:

Jesus’ first words to Simon Peter were “Come, follow me” (Mark 1: 17). His last words to him were “Follow me” (John 21: 22). Every step of the way between those two challenges, Peter never failed to follow – even though he often stumbled.

God used Peter as the first great voice of the gospel during and after Pentecost.

How is our Spiritual walk with our LORD Jesus Christ? Let us make some self-analysis and come to the throne of grace today.

“Jesus Reinstates Peter”

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word: “Jesus Reinstates Peter

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”  Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you loveme?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. John 21: 15 – 17

Thought:

Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved him. The first time Jesus said, “Do you love me more than these? (Greekagape: self-sacrificial love). The second time, Jesus focused on peter alone and still used the word translated into Greek, agape. The third time, Jesus used the word translated into Greek, phileo (brotherly love) and asked, in effect, “Are you even my friend?

If Lord Jesus Christ asked us the same question today, what will be our response? If we do everything out of love we will never be disappointed. Let us run for the Lord with love.

And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Roman 5:5

All to Jesus I surrender;

All to him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust him,

In his presence daily live.    Judson W. Van DeVenter, 1896

Cost of True Christian Discipleship

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:        Luke 14: 25 – 33

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2014:25-33

  1. And if you do not carry your cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.

Thought: Cost of True Christian Discipleship

LORD Jesus encouraged those who were superficial either to go deeper or to turn back. Following Christ Jesus means an absolute submission to do God’s will and to follow His foot prints.

  • True faith in Christ Jesus transforms our conduct, attitude, character, speech pattern, motives and actions.
  • No matter what the cost, let us follow the foot prints of Jesus.

Great Commission

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us remember the resurrected Lord Jesus’Great Commission.

Word:

When He (Jesus) was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24: 30-32

Thought:

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Cor 4:4

Prayer:

Dear God open our eyes to see the mission fields that are ready for harvest. Help us see with a moving compassion the multitudes of people without someone to show them the way. In Jesus name. Amen.

How did Christ’s resurrection influence your spiritual walk?

Dear all,

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. II Peter 1: 2

Word:

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8: 11

Thought:

The Holy Spirit is God’s promise of eternal life for those who believe in Him. The Spirit is in us now by faith, and by faith we are certain to live with Christ forever. He is the power source behind the spiritual rebirth of every Christian and He gives the power to live a victorious Christian life in this world.

DO NOT BE AFRAID. STAND FIRM.

Dear Friends in Christ,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Word:

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-31

Thought:

We will have days of Heaven on Earth when we remember God always and in all things.

“Ephphatha!” – “Be opened!”

Dear Friends in Christ,

Thought for the week: Look at the Stars

Word for the week: The LORD took Abram outside and said, “Look up at the heavens and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

Genesis 15:5-6

Jesus looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means, “Be opened!”). Mark 7:34

Dear all,

Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Galatians 1: 3 – 4.

Word:

Revelation: 21: 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

Psalm: 100: 3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Thought:

God doesn’t live in buildings but in people’s hearts. He made our heart for His dwelling. Have you experienced the true deliverance in Christ Jesus? If not, during this Christmas season come closer to the light of God’s presence and make a quick evaluation of your spiritual condition.

The church of believers that meets at Christian Fellowship Centre (CFC) today commenced with a few families that first met together in Bangalore, India in August 1975. Led by Zac Poonen and Ian Robson, they decided to first be disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ themselves, and then to make disciples in obedience to the Lord’s commission in Matthew 28:18-20. They emphasized new birth, holiness of inner life, mutual love, moral purity, financial integrity and sharing God’s truth with others – founding every aspect of their lives on God’s Word alone.

Starting as a small House Church, this body of Christ has grown steadily in the understanding and experience of the New Covenant Life in the Spirit. Right from the start, and through its growth over four decades the same set of distinctives has become the DNA of this Church. We soon felt a burden to share these wonderful truths that had transformed our own lives with others, starting with a monthly paper on the overcoming life and a tape ministry, and conferences for like minded disciples. In 1981 the growing Church moved into a meeting hall constructed at 40, DaCosta Square, in Bangalore. 1982-1989 marked the beginnings of the work of planting churches in other cities and states in India.

1989-1995 was a very productive period in Zac Poonen’s book writing ministry, and in the coming years he published more than twenty books. By 1997 the audio tape outreach had reached many lands. In 1999 at the age of 60, Zac Poonen gave up Eldership of CFC, Bangalore in order to travel with the Word. Our Internet outreach started in 2003 and this period also saw planting of churches in other continents. In 2014, the Church at Bangalore, having completed forty years as a Church, and also having outgrown our old hall, moved into our current meeting hall at Paradise Enclave, Bellahalli, Bangalore

Eldership at CFC Bangalore:

Christian Fellowship Church has always sought to follow New Testament teaching with respect to leadership of a local church (Tit.1:5; Acts 14:23). The word Elders indicated as “Plural” shows the necessity of having multiple elders in a local church to maintain balance in the leadership. At Bangalore, our leadership consists of four Elders- Ian Robson, Newton, Charles Banna and Vettriselvan. As per biblical teaching, the expectation on every individual member of the church is to be subject to the authority of these elders in all matters concerning the local church (Heb.13:17; 1 Thess.5:12-13).
