The Two Foundations

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word: The Two Foundations

The Two Foundations

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and [a]acts on them, [b]may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the [c]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not [d]act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the [e]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27 (NASB)

Thought:

The two lives Jesus compares at the end of the Sermon on the Mount have several points in common: they both build, they both hear Jesus’ teaching, and they both experience the same set of circumstances in life. The difference between them isn’t caused by ignorance but by one ignoring what Jesus said. Externally, their lives may look similar; but the lasting structural differences will be revealed by the storms of life.

The immediate differences in your life when you decided to follow Jesus may not be obvious, but eventually they will turn out to affect even your eternal destiny.

To what degree does your life reflect the directions Jesus gave in this Sermon?

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.

God is Omnipotent – all powerful good God

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word: God is Omnipotent – all powerful good God

16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16 (NIV)

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Colossians+1%3A16&version=NIV

Thought:

Our God has infinite power over ALL things great and small. ALL situations. The goal of this lesson is to help you recognize this attribute of His and walk in this truth daily; casting all your care unto Him because He can do all things and He cares for you. Also, we are to acknowledge the power of God has given to us to live a fruitful fulfilling life each day.

Confidence in Christ

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word of God:

7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Corinthians+12%3A7-9&version=NIV

Thought: Confidence in Christ means that LORD Jesus does “strange things I cannot always understand”. In addition, a sense of humility in knowing God realizing that there will always be more to learn from Him. The appropriate response to God is a heart of wonder and awe in light of His incomprhensible greatness.

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.

God Promises Action

Exodus 6:1-13 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

God Promises Action

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for under compulsion he will let them go, and under compulsion he will drive them out of his land.”

God spoke further to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord; and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, Lord, I did not make Myself known to them. I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they sojourned. Furthermore I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. I will bring you to the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you for a possession; I am the Lord.’” So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses on account of their despondency and cruel bondage.

10 Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 11 “Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the sons of Israel go out of his land.” 12 But Moses spoke before the Lord, saying, “Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am unskilled in speech?”13 Then the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a charge to the sons of Israel and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

Thought:

Let us understand the Word of God and apply it in our day-to-day life in every dimension. In addition, let us share the love of Christ Jesus to as many people as we can. We will have days of Heaven on Earth when we remember God always and in all things.

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.

How to Run Continuously for the LORD?

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:

The power of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel. I Kings 18: 46

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=I+Kings+18&version=NIV

“If you have run with footmen and they have tired you out, Then how can you compete with horses? If you fall down in a land of peace, How will you do in the thicket of the Jordan? Jeremiah 12: 5

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jeremiah+12%3A5&version=NASB

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit. James 5: 17 – 18.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+5%3A+17+-+18&version=NASB

Thought:

God’s answers to prayer are not always nice or easy to handle. It may be “Yes” or “No” or “Wait”. Any true Christian who has experienced continuous failures or serious illness knows this. We are to be committed to God even when our prayers are not immediately answered by Him. Never underestimate the love of God for us in Christ Jesus (Romans 8: 28)!

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.

Christ Centered Wisdom is a God-given Gift

Dear all,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of Holy Spirit. Romans 15: 13

Word:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3: 5 – 6

Thought:

Christ centered wisdom is a God-given gift. Its starting point is God and his revealed Word (Jesus) through the power of Holy-Spirit.  Word of God is the true source of “knowledge and understanding”. The pathway to wisdom is strenuous and when we are on the path, we discover that the true wisdom is God’s.

“JOYFUL JOURNEY WITH GOD IS INITIATED AND IGNITED IN LORD JESUS CHRIST BY THE POWER OF HOLY SPIRIT”

“Faith can move the mountains of obstacles”

Dear all,

Grace and peace be to you in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:  The prayer of the upright is his delight – Proverbs 15: 8

“Faith can move the mountains of obstacles”

Fight the good fight of faith… (I Tim 6:12)

This is the victory that hath overcome the world, even our faith (I John 5:4)

Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Ephesians 6: 10

Thought:

The prayers of godly men and women can accomplish more than all the military forces in the world.” Prayer-craft is greater than aircraft!”

What comes from heaven in a promise

Should be sent back to heaven in a prayer

God’s promises cannot fail. He has appointed prayer to bring them to pass. Some will pray them into performances. If you do not, God will seek out others that will.  – Adapted from Streams in the Desert by Charles E. Cowman

“The weapon of prayer against the forces of evil prevails. It brings power. It brings fire. It brings life.  – Author unknown

The secret of prayer is praying secretly.

Glorifying God and Making Disciples

Dear all,

Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Word:

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Thought:

Jesus left the disciples with these last words of instruction. We have to go – whether it is next door or another country – and make disciples. As we obey, we have comfort in the knowledge that Jesus is always with us.

ATTITUDE – Charles Swindoll – Adapted from http://www.insight.org

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Philippians 2: 5-11

 ATTITUDE

by

Charles Swindoll – Adapted from http://www.insight.org

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.  It will make or break a company… a church… a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day.  We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes”

In Christ we have everything we need for salvation and for living the Christian life. Thank God for what we have received in Christ Jesus.
